Whilst there are some obvious places we automatically think of taking the family to for the day, I’m here to share some epic parks that not only offer a playground, but an entire day out!Denmark Hill Conservation ReserveStop driving past and come discover what little gem hides inside! Located right near the Ipswich hospital, Denmark Hill has so much to offer including a selection of bush walking trails, all of which are dog friendly (dogs must remain on leash). The trails all vary in fitness levels and length. While walking around keep your eyes open for the local wildlife, and experience the serenity, even though surrounding you is the hustle and bustle of the Ipswich CBD. With interactive displays, an in-house cinema space and an active events hub this venue is a must visit whilst in town. Open Tuesday to Saturday 9am - 2pm.Ipswich Nature CentreAlso in Queens Park you will find the Ipswich Nature Centre. There is an incredible bilby enclosure which runs a breeding program for the endangered species, and many other Australian native animals including a rescued Eagle that you can learn about. Entry is via gold coin donation and will be a very memorable visit for all. 

When I first visited Ipswich eight years ago, what stood out to me the most was the old buildings rich in history, the beautifully renovated Queenslanders and the views of the mountains. Over the past eight years I’ve witnessed the development and growth the Ipswich region has undergone to create a beautiful little city that so many are proud to call home.So, when I was asked by the Ipswich City Council to capture Ipswich through my eye as a photographer you can imagine my excitement at capturing some of my favourite spots. As a family, lifestyle and wedding photographer, this really got me out of my comfort zone, which I loved!My first stop was the Queens Park glass house at around 11am on a sunny day.  I absolutely fell in love with the way the glass house lights up with misty windows from the front. Surrounded by a meticulously manicured garden, it’s a photographers dream. I can't help but picture some cute family photos have been captured here.

Known for it’s 15 larger-than-life exhibitions that showcase the history of rail in Queensland, The Workshops Rail Museum is loved by children and adults alike.Families love visiting the museum as they can have their photos taken in front of the life-size locomotives, marvel at the impressive 90 square metre Queensland Model Railway (which is the largest in the state!), play at the Nippers Railway playground, and meet Thomas the Tank Engine, who makes a special appearance during the holidays.But there is so much more to the museum that you might have missed, or you might not know about.
